SafeRack’s Cable System – Endless Benefits

The Safetrack cable fall protection system is made from lightweight synthetic cable, can span up to 200 feet, supports up to 4 workers at a time, and meets all OSHA requirements for horizontal cable lifeline systems. The lifeline cable is extremely resistant to extended use, chemicals, and weather. It also has low sag and weighs only 15 pounds per 100 feet. Plus, if the cable becomes worn, a red liner in the cable alerts the user to damage or wear. The fall prevention system also allows workers to pass between lifeline supports without disconnecting from the cable, and the available Skyrider bypass allows for hands-free operation.

L & T Style Support Column Lifelines

Trolley style L & T style lifeline systems are typically used in rail car, mass transit, and truck applications and are suited for fall arrest applications where foot level HLL isn’t an option. Rigid rail L & T support column systems require smaller foundations and minimize fall distance and deflection while easily accommodating multiple users, making them ideal for a variety of outdoor fall protection applications. With the fall protection system overhead, a worker’s fall can be arrested before striking equipment or falling to the ground.

Self-Retracting Lifelines (SRL’s)

Our full line of self-retracting lanyards meet or exceed the most stringent standards for leading-edge applications (LE). Leading-edge SRL’s are designed to protect a worker when working near an edge and a fall hazard exists. They provide additional protection against sharp or abrasive surfaces found on many construction sites. The lightweight, durable, aluminum housing unit is approved for use in vertical and horizontal applications. The attachment points include a swivel eye on housing with connection pin for mounting below the dorsal D-Ring and double-action locking form hooks with fall indicator on web lifeline for connection to anchorage connector.

Full Body Harness/Belt Combos by PeakWorks are designed to be lightweight and comfortable, so you can wear them all day. T-Line Safety Fall Protection System

Tool Tethers

PeakWorks offers a tethering system that includes 2 specially designed lanyards that connect the tool anchor clamp to either the operator or suitable anchors. The wrist lanyard features a built-in heavy-duty adjustable wrist collar on one end and can be conveniently tethered to your wrists, while also featuring an eyehole for attaching carabiners at each end. This small carabiner is made specifically so as not to interfere with any other items in bags around you (such as keys) and connects securely into our Tool Collar HDPE clamps without coming loose like traditional clips might do overtime if they aren’t installed correctly from day 1 when purchased separately.

Rope grabs

Rope grabs are a cost-effective fall protection solution while working at height. PeakWorks rope grab meets ANSI Z359.15 standards and is designed to automatically follow the user during their ascent or descent, meaning that it will “bite” onto the ropes in case of an emergency so as to arrest any falls following these scenarios.

Lifelines

Peakworks lifelines are specially designed from rope made using high-strength polysteel. Polysteel is an extruded co-polymer fibre that yields extremely strong, lightweight ropes with excellent resistance to acids and alkalis. PeakWork’s vertical lifeline comes in many different lengths ranging between 6 ft (1.8 m) and 16 ft long (4 meters). There are a variety of snap hooks or carabiners available for your specific application needs; all backed by the company’s Lifetime Warranty on material defects such as breakage due to material aging, UV exposure, or physical abuse.

Horizontal lifeline fall protection systems (HLL systems) provide constant protection to the individual working at heights, such as loading trucks and railcars or working on a roof. A horizontal lifeline consists of a cable attached to two or more anchor points on a roof-top, crane runway, bridge or outdoor construction site, or any other elevated work area. Horizontal lifelines may be attached using floor-level, wall mount, or overhead mounting options and can adapt to accommodate corners and a variety of building shapes.

When used together with personal protective gear, a horizontal lifeline can detain a fall, restricting the quantity of force that’s transferred to the worker and the fall arrest system. This same combination of horizontal lifeline, body harness, and lanyard can also serve as a fall restraint system, limiting a worker’s ability to move close enough to fall over an unprotected leading edge. The fall restraint and fall arrest properties of horizontal lifelines make the HLL an essential part of an effective fall protection system.

Fall Protection Definitions

Anchorage – a secure point of attachment for equipment such as lifelines, lanyards, or deceleration devices.

Body belt – a waist strap that attaches to fall arrest equipment such as lanyards used with positioning systems, travel restraint systems, or ladder safety systems.

Body harness – straps that attach to fall arrest equipment.

Deceleration apparatus – a mechanism that functions to dissipate energy in a fall.

Deceleration space – the vertical distance a falling employee travels from the stage at which the deceleration device begins to operate, excluding lifeline elongation and free fall distance, until halting. Deceleration Distance is measured as the distance between the location of a worker’s body harness attachment point at the moment of activation (at the onset of fall arrest forces) of the deceleration device during a fall, and the location of the attachment point after the employee comes to a complete stop.

Free Fall – the act of falling ahead of the personal fall arrest system begins to apply force to arrest the fall.

Free Fall distance – excludes deceleration distance, lifeline, and lanyard elongation, but includes any deceleration device slide distance or self-retracting lifeline/lanyard expansion until the apparatus operate and fall arrest forces occur.

Lifeline – a part of a personal fall protection system consisting of a flexible line for connection to an anchorage at one end in order to hang vertically (vertical lifeline), or for connection to anchorages at both ends in order to stretch horizontally (horizontal lifeline), also functions as a means for connecting other components of this system into the anchorage.

Personal fall protection system – a system (including all elements ) an employer utilizes to give protection against falling or to securely detain a worker’s collapse if one happens. Cases of personal fall protection techniques incorporate personal fall arrest systems, positioning systems, and travel restraint methods.

Partitioning method (work-positioning system) – a system of connectors and equipment which, when combined with a body harness or body belt, enables an employee to be supported on an elevated vertical surface, like a wall or window sill, and use both hands-free. Positioning systems are also known as “placement system devices” and”work-positioning equipment.”

Rope grab – a deceleration device that travels on a lifeline and automatically, by friction, engages the lifeline and locks in order to arrest the fall of a worker.

Self-retracting lifeline/lanyard – a deceleration device comprising a drum-wound lineup which could be slowly extracted from, or retracted onto, the drum under slight tension during normal movement from the worker. At the start of a collapse, the device automatically locks the drum and arrests the fall.

Snaphook – a hook with a spring opening, allowing for a cord or rope to enter the hook’s loop, but not leave it unless the spring is opened by using the thumb to pull down on a small knob.

Travel restraint (tether) lineup – a rope or wire rope used to transport forces out of a body service to an anchorage or anchorage connector at a travel restraint program.

Travel restraint system – a blend of an anchorage, anchorage connector, lanyard (or alternative means of relationship ), and body assistance an employer uses to eliminate the prospect of a worker going over the border of a walking-working surface.

Carabiner – a connector generally comprised of a trapezoidal or oval-shaped body with a closed gate or similar arrangement that may be opened to attach another object and, when released, automatically closes to retain the object.

Connector –a device used to couple (connect) parts of the fall protection system together.
