With this technology, you no longer need to have the loading arm in the vertical position to make adjustments. In most cases, adjustments can be made from any position.
The 788 Torsion Spring from OPW features proven performance for smaller load applications for over 70 years. This spring balance is ideal for those smaller applications such as drum/tote filling and some smaller truck loading installations.

The OPW 890 Series Hi-Load Spring-Balance is OPW’s latest advancement in loading arm technology. Engineered to provide stable balancing , easy/safe adjustment and the highest load capacities. Many of today’s loading arm applications demand longer reaches, larger pipe sizes and more accessories; all of which can add significantly to the counterbalancing requirements. The 890 provides the flexibility to design larger arms without sacrificing performance.
OPW can custom design your loading arm to incorporate a variety of pneumatic counterbalancing options. In most cases a pneumatic cylinder would be used to provide vertical lift of your loading arm, but arms can be designed to provide complete remote control. Pneumatics can help improve the overall safety of your loading operations by minimizing any strenuous pushing, pulling or lifting.
OPW Engineered Systems L90 Series Counterbalance has been designed for loading arms that require higher spring loads to accommodate longer reaches and additional equipment. The innovative linear spring design does not require the pneumatic system that is typical for loading arms that have a longer reach or additional weight from attachments. Because all of the calibrations done on the L90 are completed at the back of the spring, the operator is never placed in harms way, and a simple turn of the adjusting bolt provides finite adjustments to tune the loading arm to the desired balance point.
OPW Engineered Systems offers the 888L Loading Arm Lockdown Assembly, which provides additional control of the loading arm during loading operations, while also enabling the system to maintain a full range of motion. Several mounting options are available, allowing the operator to incorporate the 888L Loading Arm Lockdown Assembly in a variety of applications, ranging from the transfer of very viscous liquids to those that involve extremely high loads.
